everything you need to know about the

Wedding experience

the heart behind my work

I put my whole heart into documenting moments and the fact that you’re here considering me to be the one to capture those moments is an honor that I don’t take lightly.

Trends come and go, but your photographs last forever. My style can be described as organic, sincere, and romantic. I have come to value the unexpected, intimate moments that take place on a wedding day. The hug your mom gives you before you leave your dressing room, the tear that falls down his cheek when he sees you walking down the aisle, the way the two of you lean your heads together during the toasts.  This day is about more than the flowers and the shoes you chose. It’s about celebrating the start of a new family. It’s an honor to play a part in such a significant day and I hope you’ll choose me to be a part of yours!

Frequently asked questions

To start the booking process, simply get in touch by filling out the contact form on my website. I respond quickly to all inquiries with a link to my Wedding Pricing Guide. After I find more details about your wedding day, I’ll put together a tentative photography timeline for you to decide which collection is the better fit for you. You will receive a personal client portal link designed for you with your wedding details. I use an online client portal for all of my contracts, communication, and payments. Everything will be done electronically and is streamlined to create the easiest booking experience possible. Once the proposal is approved, a 50% non-refundable retainer and signed contract are all you need to secure your wedding date. Once everything is signed, sealed, and delivered, I’ll officially put you on my calendar and then the real fun begins. The final payment is due 2 months before the wedding day. I pride myself in being very hands-on with my clients when it comes to the wedding planning process and am always here to give advice or suggestions for anything needed. Across the board, I believe that each wedding planning experience is unique to each couple, but I promise to be as helpful as possible.

I can help with that! Based on how many locations you have throughout the day, how large the wedding party is, how many bridal details (flat lay details) there are to be photographed, and how much reception you want to have covered will all be determining factors in how much coverage you need. I’ll put together a sample timeline for you at the very beginning of this process to help guide you in wedding planning and help you make those important decisions. From my experience photographing 100+ weddings, most weddings fit best with 8 hours of coverage for a wedding that takes place at one location. For weddings that require multiple locations, I strongly suggest a 10-hour photography coverage.

My collections are consecutive hours. I won’t be able to accommodate splitting the hours. During “downtime”, I’m traveling to and/or setting up for the second location, taking establishing venue shots, backing up photos, charging batteries, or preparing for the next critical moment. I’m always doing something related to the event. Moreover, I always show up 30 minutes to an hour early and don’t charge extra so while you may not realize that you are getting spare time that aren’t being charged for, it’s my way of going above and beyond.

I picked up a point-and-shoot camera back in 2005. My nickname used to be “History” because I was literally capturing everything and everyone that crossed my path. In 2009 a friend asked me to shoot her wedding day and slowly started to make my transition into the wedding industry. I constantly work on educating myself on how to perfect my craft to better serve you.

My approach to wedding photography is to document your day in a timeless style while capturing moments that will allow you to remember the day as it actually happened. I go into a wedding day with the intent of telling the full and honest story of the day. I love being both interactive and discreet throughout the wedding day. There will be parts of the wedding when I will need to be in control in order to accomplish everything that needs to be done while staying on schedule. There will also be moments when you wouldn’t even know that I’m there. I teach my couples how to pose, model, and interact during their engagement session so they are natural on the wedding day and don’t need quite as much instruction from me. Working closely with you and your planner is essential in building a seamless photography timeline structured to ensure every moment and detail is captured in the most beautiful way possible. Your wedding day passes by quickly, so to be able to look back on a photograph of your grandma squeezing you before your first dance, or your sister wiping a tear away during your ceremony is priceless. These photojournalistic images, all the editorial details you have carefully chosen, as well as those classic portraits with family and friends that won’t look overly trendy in a few years, are what I strive to gift you with.

3 Canon cameras (R6 Mark II, 5D Mark IV, and 5D Mark III), Canon prime lenses: 50 mm 1.2, 35 mm 1.4, 85 mm 1.2, off-camera flash setup (2 flash stands, 3 flashes + MagMod MagSphere), a bunch of styling accessories (which I update and grow constantly), clear umbrellas for the rainy days.

I use Lightroom and every photo is hand edited by me for proper exposure, contrast, and saturation to match my personal style approach. I do light retouching on all of my photos. This means that if there are any glaring or distracting objects that should be removed, I’ll remove them. Larger edits (such as removing tan lines) require more time and would require me to add additional editing hours to your collection. I believe Photoshop it’s an art itself. Therefore, I do not perform extensive editing on my photographs.

I am available for weddings near and far. However, weddings outside of 100 roundtrip miles of Raleigh, North Carolina will cost an additional travel fee. I do make an exception to certain places I love to travel to and new places I’ve always wanted to travel to, so feel free to reach out and ask how to minimize or eliminate those travel costs.

I love intimate weddings, elopements, and weekday vows. Private estate and tented weddings hold a special place in my heart. Contact me for custom pricing. I can craft a special collection just for you.

An engagement session is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other, get comfortable in front of the camera, and ask any questions you may have. It is also a great way for me to see how you two interact with each other, and learn about your personalities, and poses you like or you don’t really feel comfortable with. I don’t want to force people to hang out with me, but I hope you see the value in taking the time to get to know me, my process, and what it’s like to be in front of my camera. The engagement session is 100% complimentary and it cannot be deducted from the collection or replaced with other services from the “a la carte” pricing list.

I love when couples choose to incorporate pets into their session. Keep in mind that bringing a pet along often means that we’ll need to choose a pet-friendly location. I recommend planning for your pet to be at the first part of your session and having a friend take him/her home. We won’t use the pet in every single photo so it’s also nice to have someone available to hold him/her in between shots. If you’re going to bring a pet, I recommend exercising your pet before the session and bringing your pet’s favorite toy, treats, and a water bottle. Depending on your pet’s fur type, it might also be a good idea to groom them before the shoot.

Absolutely! Feel free to email hello@ligiagathright.com for investment details and availability.

I hear this comment all the time. We aren’t all models and most people are not 100% comfortable in front of a camera. I strive to make all my sessions a fun experience because, let’s be honest, posing can be quite exhausting. During your wedding day and your engagement session, I’ll give you clear cues and directions on where to stand and what to do. I will guide you through the entire process beginning with poses that are super easy and natural with the goal of capturing your natural dynamic and authentic interactions. I’ll keep an eye on your hair, makeup, and outfits to make sure things stay in place. I want you both to feel as relaxed as possible and enjoy your time in front of my camera.

The only list I recommend is the family shot list, which I always make sure we create together prior to the wedding day. This list will help us stay organized, keep things moving quickly and make sure no one is left out during family formals. Any other shot list is unnecessary as that would just distract me from photographing the moments and the day as it unfolds naturally. I’m a detail-oriented person, so rest assured all those details you put so much thought into during wedding planning won’t go unnoticed. Additionally, I want you to trust my artistic vision and leave the creativity up to me.

I believe in quality over quantity and never put a number on the number of photos I deliver. If it’s a great photo, I want you to have it. There are many variables that play into the number of photos delivered.

All of your high-resolution edited photos will be delivered via a private online gallery approximately 8-10 weeks after your wedding day. This is a process that is not meant to be rushed. I don’t enjoy making you wait by any means, but I care about making sure I take the necessary time to ensure you have an amazing experience when you relive your special day through your wedding gallery. Should a delay occur in the timing of the delivery of your gallery, you will be notified as soon as possible. You will have full download and print rights and you’ll be able to share the gallery link with family and friends. I will retain the copyright, which simply means that they cannot be resold, published, or distributed without my permission. Your gallery will remain active 3 weeks after I delivered your photos. While your gallery may stay up longer than that, I cannot guarantee it. Once your gallery has been delivered, I highly recommend downloading all high-resolution images to several devices. Consider investing in a portable, waterproof external hard drive. The biggest thing to remember is that the gallery is a method of delivery, not storage.  Download your photos as soon as you get them. There is a re-upload fee if you fail to do so before the gallery expires. Photo credit is always appreciated and welcomed!

RAW files are not available for purchase. You’d need special editing software such as Lightroom to even be able to view the files. You most likely stumbled upon my website because you were drawn by my editing style. Let me take care of the editing part for you, so you can enjoy the final product once I deliver it.
